Can you hem sleeves of a leather jacket? Should I?
My mr freedom jacket’s sleeves are a tad too long. I’m going to wet it down and let it sit in the sun before i make a decision to see if it shrinks up a bit but curious to know if anyone has had a leather jacket hemmed.

You don’t want to hem the sleeves on a leather jacket, you want to shorten it at the shoulder. I would wear it a bit to see how much the sleeves come up as rolls develop/also do what you’re thinking about wetting and drying in the sun first before approaching that.
If after that you do decide to shorten the sleeves you will want a leather tailor. The one that everyone swears by for expensive jackets is Advanced European Tailoring in Berkeley CA. Give them a call to arrange it and then send it to them. Their turnaround time typically isn’t bad, but they are expensive
All good advice. I don't know this organization personally, but it's important to find a good one. You can pretty much count on two hands (maybe one) the number of independent leather tailors in the world who won't totally screw up a jacket.
Thanks dude this answers my question perfectly
Lets hope it shrinks lol this sounds like more money than i’m willing to spend
Yeah I only know of one other one in North America, but they’re in Canada and I don’t think it would be as cost effective lol
Last time I checked including shipping it was about $400. This was 3 years ago though
One thing I will say is Advanced European Tailoring is who Standard & Strange endorses and they send their own jackets there when needed. Derek Guy and Peter Zottolo (UrbanComposition on IG) have also recommended them.
