Help Needed: Cloudflare DNS & Shopify Domain Issue (Error 1001 / Site Not Loading)
Hi there, I’m looking for an experienced Cloudflare developer or DNS expert who can help me troubleshoot and fix a domain issue I’m currently facing.
Here’s the situation:
My store is hosted on Shopify.
I previously connected the domain to Cloudflare, but have since removed it
After removing Cloudflare, my site is no longer loading, and I'm getting:
⚠️ "Error 1001: DNS resolution error – Cloudflare is currently unable to resolve your domain."
I want to either:
Completely disconnect from Cloudflare and reset to normal/default DNS
Or properly reconnect Cloudflare without breaking the Shopify setup
Additionally:
My domain DNS is managed in Shopify
Mail is handled by Zoho Mail, which is working fine
Users in other country are experiencing access issues
✅ What I need from you:
Review and correct DNS records
Ensure the site loads globally and securely (HTTPS working)
Ideally help me make this a clean setup (with or without Cloudflare)

Hey @weztgram can you send the domain that you are having this issue? (need to do a DNS lookup)
Yes, thank you @ShadowArcanist idiaverse.com
DNS over Discord: A records

After removing Cloudflare, my site is no longer loading, and I'm getting: ⚠️ "Error 1001: DNS resolution error – Cloudflare is currently unable to resolve your domain."This happens when you remove the site from cloudflare dashboard while your nameservers are still pointing to cloudflare. So when anyone visits the domain, Cloudflare’s DNS says “I don’t know that zone” → Error 1001. So if you move away from cloudflare then you have to change your Nameservers to where you want it to be managed. Just now I visited your website and it shows the domain is not configured properly on Shopify and your A records are pointing to Shopify and NS is on googledomains.com, so you have completely removed cloudflare at this point. If you login to your shopify dashboard and configure it properly based on Shopify docs then you can bring your site back up online

@ShadowArcanist thank you for reaching out and for your help, but i am still experiencing this issues, is there a way you can connect me to a developer or if you can help me fix my store and the issue i am having with customers not being able to load my site from other region ??
The page works for me. Where exactly are you getting the error?
@Laudian The page is working now, the issue has been resolved just now from shopify, however i am stil having issues with people in nigeria not able to load the site
I'd guess that's just DNS cache if it works for some and not for others.
@Laudian it works when they use VPN, i thought maybe adding my domain to cloudflare would resolve the issue, that was why i addded it to cloudflare ta first
And what error do people get when they try to open your site?
'site can't be reached'
' could not connect to server'
That sounds like the users can't connect to Cloudflare in the first place, which is usually an issue with the ISP.
yes, before and after i added my domain to cloudflare i was having the issue
I don't think we can do much here, because your domain is pointing to a IP address of Shopify which a Cloudflare CDN IP that Shopify uses, so here Shopify uses Cloudflare. The users are not able to connect to cloudflare like Laudian stated above.
So the best thing you can do is contact Shopify support and explain this issue, they might be able give you a solution because your domain is fully pointing to the IP that Shopify told you to point to setup your domain on Shopify.
@ShadowArcanist @Laudian okay, thank you for your help. i really appreciate you take your time to help. 🫶
