Applications muted in CachyOS (KDE x11) can't be unmuted after switching to Bazzite (KDE Wayland)
I had moved from
CachyOS
(KDE x11)
to Bazzite
(KDE Wayland)
and kept my home partition, but now i have a problem where certain applications can't be unmuted because there is no speaker icon nor a volume slider on the applications in "Icons-and-Text Task Manager"
i'd really rather not have to lose ALL of my settings and configs, so...
My Questions:
is there a way to get the icons/volume slider to show on the task manager in wayland?
failing that, is there a way to reset KDE's cached volume/muted applications?
or worst case scenario, is it possible to switch Bazzite to x11?26 Replies
try looking at
~/.local/state/wireplumber/restore-stream
, is the muted application there?there were muted applications listed in a different file in
~/.local/state/wireplumber/
so i removed the entire folder and rebooted my system
now i'm starting the modpack in the flatpak version of Prism Launcher(Minecraft if you weren't aware already)
i'll let you know if that fixed it
nopewhat is shown in speaker icon > applications
try clearing
~/.cache
maybe?just delete it?
yeah
still nothing
This is flatpak minecraft right?
i see prismlauncher
yes
do non-flatpak apps work fine?
sound i mean
yes
STALKER 2 was working last night
err, nvm that was heroic flatpak
heroic flatpak doesnt run games as flatpak
steam games work though
gotcha
games are ran through proton and a prefix so flatpak isn't involved here
so your issue is likely something related to stale flatpak data from cachyos
that is all stored in ~
how do i clear that, just remove the
~/.var/
folder?
or is there something in ~/.local/share/
or ~/.config/
is there anything in the override folder in ~/.config/flatpak/overrides
that's where permission overrides are
~/.config/flatpak/
doesn't existsorry wrong folder i think
its
~/.local/share/flatpak/overrides
is there anything there?yes, i just deleted it
that will reset all your permission overrides
to default
you could try rebooting see if its fixed?
otherwise it might be sandbox data as well
fixed!
absolute legend
nice
tysm 🙂
no problem!
glad since now you don't have to delete your actual sandbox data
next step would've been to .bak your .var/app folder ðŸ˜
same, i'm so glad i don't have to lose all of my data
