Is Bazzite dependent on Windows-side driver updates? (ROG Ally X)
Hello! I've got Bazzite on my ROG Ally X and love the experience. I kept a little Windows partition on the device just in case. Is there any need to occassionally boot in to the Windows side to check driver updates (especially GPU drivers)? Does Bazzite do anything to check/maintain/update these drivers? Thanks for any insight!

GPU drivers are in software, not hardware. More specifically, the Linux drivers are in the Linux kernel

For the GPU drivers, you do not need Windows at all.
So to update drivers on the Linux/Bazzite side, is there a specific operation to perform? Or is it done automatically at the OS level updates?
OS updates
Awesome, thank you for the clarification, appreciate the help!!
I guess one more question just out of curiosity: what's the distinction between the Deck-side update (
Settings -> System -> Update
) vs the Desktop-side update (boot to desktop -> Check for Updates)?they are intended to be the same function
Interesting, checking updates from the Deck side produced nothing but running it on the desktop side provided a significant number of updates. I'll just try to make a habit of checking both consistently. Thanks again for your help.
Just FYI: If you're using the desktop "System Update" app you don't need to check the one in game mode. And you can also update the OS using HHD

Here's some info on opening HHD.

Awesome, good to know I can update from HHD, thank you!!
