Do guides on optimizing network/connection exist?
my server is located on Australia, which means terrible ping (300ms on fiber)
I'm looking for resources or guides on that topic

Why
wdym why
why would you host it on australia if you are 300ms away from australia
because I can't pay for a hosting service, instead a friend gave me access to a small mac to host the server, it wasn't my choice
🤦
And a mac too
you wont get good latency
Its residential ISPs all the way
I realized that since day 0
Theres like 0 way
you chose the worst possible setup for latency
not sure if it matters tho
it loads decently fast for 40 plugins and like 6 worlds
I didn't had an option?
Residentially hosted, Remote bad networking region, etc
I couldn't choose
it was either that or.. nothing?
I get it but there is like no way to reduce your latency
specially if you have no money
realms trials abuse ig
the only way would be setting up an anycasted proxy on top
or free hosts like shiternos
Would likely give you a better experience
is this for a public server or for friends?
public intended 💀 (mostly friends)
I mean, 300ms is not that bad
but I do wish to get a lower ping
just use smth like lunar client's server hoster or any free host
idk why u do this setup
in my experience, better than free hosts
+ I get to control everything
300ms is definelty not better then free hosts
300ms on a self hosted residentially connected APAC server arm desktop*
it's not for fast paced games
more like a chill slow survival
300ms is still not enough for that
as I said, is not that bad but I wish to reduce it as much as possible
u cant
get money or self host it urself
I tried survival and it's not that bad
if I had a spare machine
or a job (in my country getting a job as a 17yo is borderline impossible)
but I have really limited options
u can do it on your own machine
I could
but that means no more PC for me
