There will never be a new big 3 in the future unless these conditions are met
1. 3 Manga that start near the same time and become the most popular, as well as an anime adaptation
2. for them to hold up well in their beginning and in the future
3. for them to continue for a long time, (around 10 years or more, even anime things count as content. (the Bleach anime counts even though the manga is finished))
its what made the Big 3 the big 3, and if these conditions aren't met then the Big 3 is still Bleach, Naruto and One Piece

I mean, realistically i feel if they continued shangri la without seasons, it could become one of
Doesn’t have to even be 10 years
but there needs to be more series or its the New Gen 1
or whatever name we call it
my opinion they have to be long, people were saying JJK, KNY and AOT were the new gen 3 but AOT ended before 2024 manga and anime and JJK manga is done but anime isn't KNY ended in 2020 but infinity castle is yet to be released
Nahhh jjk is boring tbh and slow, there’s not as much story as it seems.
Kny is good but it definitely doesn’t feel like anime that would just run continuously, it should stay seasonal.
Same with aot
It should be some series that have really big world
i agree
Such that you can milk for hundreds of episodes
i don't like seasonal ones but there are pros and cons
I mainly watch seasonal ones
I like some long series but not all
pro's is that you can catch up and not be behind, Cons is that people who've watched til the beginning have to wait
Like one piece for me feels like it’s just dragging pointlessly things when it doesn’t have to.
same
Bleach is slow at first but it gets faster so I like that
one piece should just be a weekly
For Naruto I mainly enjoyed the first one, before shippuuden
Later it started dragging
shippuden was just Sasuke retrieval for 50% of it
Yeaaa
And boruto wasn’t even needed as series in my opinion
They could have just ended it lol
But idk im generally pretty critical about a lot of series because I’ve seen over 800, so others may enjoy it and obviously I respect that
I think the issue with any new big 3 appearing is also not only in contents of series but how irl world changes.
Economy is different nowadays, people have different attention span, preferences change and people are more critical towards animation which means making long series will cost more
With how expensive things are nowadays, animators want to be paid sooner, and quick seasonal series are better suited for that than dedicating years to some long series
