Invoke Scopebuddy from Lutris? Or fix Steam to allow Gamescope and MangoHud hotkeys?

system: bazzite-nvidia-open 41, 5800X3D, 3080 TI I've got WoW installed (through Lutris originally) and running with Scopebuddy as a non-Steam app in Steam. I needed to run through Gamescope to enable borderless mode so that game freezes wouldn't require a reboot (made a post on that last night). However I'd really prefer to be able to use Gamescope and MangoHud hotkeys. * If Scopebuddy can be invoked through Lutris, that should fix the Steam input wrapper consuming those hotkeys. What is the proper way to invoke Scopebuddy in Lutris? Preferrably without a bunch of shell script wrappers. * Or ... can I work around this in Steam such that I can send MangoHud (example: shift+F12 to toggle MangoHud's display) and Gamescope (example: Super+S to take a screenshot) while running in Steam? I tried disabling Steam Input via Properties > Controller but that didn't help with the hotkeys.

you probably can do this inside command prefix in system options

I've got Lutris launching with either Gamescope or Scopebuddy (command prefix = "gamescope --". But I still have no way to use the hotkeys in either Gamescope or MangoHud. The input just isn't going through.

did you try scopebuddy?

yes, tried both ... just replace "gamescope --" with "scopebuddy --". They run, and if using Scopebuddy then MangoHud enables per my scb.conf, but the hotkeys don't pass through. and thanks for the responses regardless of the outcome :)

huh, where does the hotkey come from? mangohud/gamescope itself or steam?

shift+F12 should be a default for MangoHud to toggle display on/off (also tried just F12). Super+S (Winkey+S) should be default for Gamescope to take a screenshot. Those are what I've been trying to test against since they're the 2 things I need working most. Super+F -does- work to swap Gamescope between having a titlebar and not (defaults to not since I have borderless set). So I'm pretty confused. I'll go look and make sure my MangoHud actually has that in it's config.

do you change the mangohud hotkey? shift+f12 does work but as stated by the github you need shift_r (the right one near enter)

a) confirmed that I had no MangoHud.conf (so should have been on defaults) b) created one using the "Create New" menu in Dolphin and renamed it to ~/.config/MangoHud/MangoHud.conf ... but it's all commented out so should still be defaults (note: this bazzite install is only a few days old and this is my first looks at MangoHud so shouldn't be any weird config stuff anyway) c) yeah, I've tried both shift keys. d) if relevant this is from my scb.conf: SCB_GAMESCOPE_ARGS="--mangoapp -f -w 3840 -h 1600 -W 3840 -H 1600 -r 120 -o 30 -b --hdr-enabled"

just confirming, does the hotkey ever work in other games, like in steam games maybe

Ahhhh, without a .config the hotkey wasn't bound. Uncommented in the .config and it worked. My bad for assuming with no .config it would default to them being bound. (don't have any other games installed yet, but, regardless, think I've got it figured out with your prompts)

in fact that was the problem in Steam, too. Works both places. well, worked once in steam on battle.net initial load, stopped working ... probably not going to use Steam anyway. Thanks again.
