Strange Keyboard Size on Gnome Desktop
I just installed and the keyboard launched on the desktop is positioned (always center) and sized strangely like it's having a scaling issue. Is this expected? Latest deck image with gnome on Legion Go

But essentially on desktop mode go to display and monitors and adjust scaling to 100% and reboot that should fix it.
Yeah this hints at the root issue. I'm not a Linux pro but put as I understand it, I guess in Gnome Steam doesn't respect desktop scaling even when the setting is in enabled in steam (works in KDE). I've tried exporting a particular env variable to a few configs with no luck yet, it's something like STEAM_SCALING_BLAHBLAH=$(scale value)
So far no luck, but still have a few places to try putting it
The issue is I'm on a 4k TV so I can't keep it at 100%
Oh apologies I'm not as familiar with gnome I assumed the fix was the same.
No worries! Your suggestion was in the right direction and this ecosystem is so confusing
I'll say this, I highly prefer KDE Gnome very much wants you to use it the way they intend it to be used. KDE does what you want it to do.
Linux can be confusing but stick with it, it'll start clicking after awhile.
Yeah I use Linux for work but damn desktop is so different because there are so many competing groups trying to solve a single thing
I like KDE Plasma too, maybe I'll give it a go again. My main use case though is streaming from a handheld, Gnomes UX is really nice for that
I'll take a look and see if I can do a gnome like UX with kde plasma
There is some kind of decky loader plugin for steaming in believe. At the very least you could add the websites as non steam games in steam and the built in browser in steam will let you stream that way.
Dedicated apps would be nice though.
fyi this is most likely a steam client issue. keyboard issues related to scaling doesnt look like this (usually zoomed in or zoomed out)
try to right click steam in the system tray, click big picture mode, wait until it loads and close big picture mode again. now, try launching the keyboard - it should be fixed temporarily
this is how it looks on my steam deck btw

Oh interesting! Thank you @amel will post a reply asap
