Steam does not see a new controller, despite it having OS functionality.

Heya gang. Been loving the spin I've been taking on Bazzite so far. Unfortunately, I bought a new controller recently and I've not been able to use it. The controller is from Big Big Won and is the Blitz 2 (non-TMR). I've attempted to scour forums and searches for something about this and have either missed the mark on my queries, or there's not an issue and I'm just missing some kind of toggle or something. Things I've tried: - Implementing xpad, though I quickly learned the dkms that xpad relies on is not used in Fedora. This did at least reveal to me that the Blitz 2 shares a VID/PID with another controller from another company. - Installing steam from the discover software center, and manipulation of all available settings in steam's controller menu, in and out of big picture. - Verifying functionality on Windows 10/Steam on another machine. - Utilized controller on the desktop to take screenshots identical to Meta+Shift+S shortcut, and noted the existence of the controller using lsusb in terminal, proving that the PC sees it. Though in the device listing, it is seen as a generic wired Xbox 360 controller, not Big Big Won Blitz 2 in any form. - Plugged the controller in at various USB ports, from 3.2 "lightning" to front panel 2.0. Happy to provide any additional information if necessary, but I'm not sure what else I can do with my limited Linux experience. Thanks!

did you try with steam input disabled in the steam propertiestab of the game?

Yeah, that and the various input types enabled separately since the controller supports Switch. Tricksy thing is that the controller works with or without steam input on a Windows machine, and neither on my Linux machine. I haven't been able to figure out VMs yet to see if a Windows VM would get the controller to steam, but maybe that would reveal additional useful info?
