Bazzite Booting into Black Screen
Hey there, I’m having an issue where my PC is booting into a black screen.
Previously I had gotten a couple of errors where it had said “Steam ran into an issue” or something along those lines while in Gaming Mode on the home menu. My options were to “Restart Steam”, “Retry”, and so on. The first 2 times were resolved by restarting.
Then, I updated the Bazzite stable client to the new April 1st release. Suddenly Bazzite boots into a black screen. I tried to enable grub to the “Always start” option from terminal, however it does not appear to be booting into grub first.
Not quite sure where to go from here.
PC Specs:
CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 7800x3D
GPU - Radeon 7800XT
SSD - Kingston NV2 1TB M.2 2280
I’ve tried googling but I’m a little in over my head with this one. Usually pretty good at troubleshooting but I’m afraid to brick something. Any thoughts?

I see there’s another post about this. Feel free to ignore if redundant and I’ll do some reading.
You need to update Decky. Try and get into desktop mode
Thanks. I may have fixed it. I used grub to reinstall decky to previous and then reset steam. Signed back in and so far seems to work. I’ll update decky and wait to update OS.
Seems to be working ok now as far as I can tell after all that
