have you checked the hash of the iso on the ventoy to make sure it transfered and was downloaded right?
Checksum? Yes I did
after it was on the USB?
Before
I know from experice that sometimes a USB will still be doing work even after the file transfer is done, it is best to just leave it plugged in for like 30 mins
so if you remove it too soon the file will not be right
I have wasted so much time with USBs being stupid like that
I use old mechanical drive for a usb
Really spastic question but can a iso file change it's checksum after being transferred onto usb stick? Or does ot stay the same?
Solution

there is a reason why the verify step on USB bootable creators take ages
Okay, I moved a fresh iso copy onto the drive, lets see how it'll work. the checksum after the transfer is correct this time
Yipee thanks boss
