I can do most techniques!!
Such as..
( bag lining,zippers hems, darts,reverse darts, pattern drafting , buttons, I can somewhat do pintucks, I am not very good at doing collars though.)
but I do not have a surger. :(

how did you get started on learning? Any good resources?
I took a local class!
I live near to a sewing store
Not saying where tho lol
But I recommend starting out getting familiar with a sewing machine if you have access to one
Then, getting into garment making, i recommend sewing oriented discord servers and YouTube channels
I love love love Sarah Spaceman, she has amazing tutorials on YouTube, while most of her vids are cosplay oriented, she uses the same method you’d use in regular apparel
And for buying patterns…either learn to do it yourself or a small business. DO NOT USE ETSY😭😭 most of the time it’s AI generated patterns which mathematically do not work in sewing
Be sure to change your needles depending on the fabric

the issey patterns arent too bad (for commercial patterns at least) as well
and they're made to be done at home so you wont need a serger
most of the spots where you'd expect to need a serger are done via catchstitching
