Millennium for Steam?
It's basically decky loader for desktop mode [link], I just wanted to know if anyone else has tried to get it running as I've had some trouble.

You can use decky loader in desktop mode if you launch steam using big picture mode (there is an option for that in the menu). Not all the plugins work outside of game mode though
Unfortunately the Millennium installer tries to write files directly into the /usr/bin folder which isn't going to work on Bazzite
:RIP:
i've been meaning to port my steam skin to CSS loader anyways but that's a bummer
you seem to know quite a bit more about this than me, is there any potential way to make this work in the long run (the mill dev seems pretty ameniable to changes overall and the lack of other desktop plugin solutions for bazzite might be a big selling point)
I'll see if I can get it running in Bazzite on the weekend if I get a chance
I assume you didn't have time this weekend? no worries if so, just didn't want it to slip through the cracks forever

I tried a few things. Couldn't get it to work. You might be able to install it in an arch distrobox. But then you'll need to re-install steam in the distrobox too (which completely defeats the point of Bazzite). I also tried putting the files in /usr/local/* instead of /usr and changing the start.sh but it looks like the application has hardcoded paths in it. So you might need to wait for the author to make a flatpak or appimage version or for someone else to make an rpm package.
ok i'll look into it thanks, the project has really been seeing some interesting plugins lately so hopefully we can get it working eventually
ok i also got this from the author:

so maybe someday soon i'll give what you did a show and see if i can get it work on my machine
and then if so maybe i'll push a change to the install script that checks for bazzite
cool good luck

ty, i'm gonna need it!
