Honestly, I’ve never bought one new. In my experience they are a great thrift store buy
is nylon a no-no? or is that what you want a garment bag to be made of
I’ve never used nylon, tried to avoid it. I’d opt for a canvas one, if you can find it. Best cost/value relationship
Plastic ones for weight but get canvas or cloth ones if you can. They all work pretty well. Get a fancier one if you're traveling with them regularly and want them to fit extra stuff
I have a plastic one with plastic locks but its hard plastic to keep moths and other bugs out
also if you can maybe drop a cedar wood block to keep them smelling nice but will still recommend washing them after storing
Yeah. For seasonal storage, I vacpack them to save space/seal them. You can get cedar blocks/squares/sticks to throw in for extra peace of mind
I will say that I cheaped out on most of my vacuum storage bags and it wasn't really worth it. Most developed small leaks after 1-2 uses and while they don't completely decompress or let bugs in, they don't stay sealed like my more expensive Ziploc branded ones which have seen years of reuse
But they'll all generally work
