I've attached the solution's sign convention method attached. But why is this the case?

by just substituting P_mirror = -R/2
instead of adding whatever extra minus they're pulling

i did that except my end result was -2/R instead of +2/R term

Pm = -2/R
so i directly put that
their end result was Pm = +2/R
since concave ka focal negative hove
they put an extra minus sign and minus minus became plus
they substituted P = -1/fm = -1/(-R/2) = 2/R
i did P = 1/fm = -2/R
unfortunately, there are options to cater to both
