nah
this video is funny i liked it a lot and had some solid analysis
i think most of us here dont really think about fashion in the context of making us look like conventionally more appealing so maybe the entire back half talking about looking taller maybe doesnt click but i think i get it
it's a big notion / desire in a lot of tiktok-y fashion folk
and man she managed to show off some bookie fits
i hate her
the whole thing is just the inverse of the whole analysis of shit to be attractive or something, which is probably the point
but i hate her for the same reason i hate that
shut up and put shit on
I hate micro cuts in vloggy/video essay content. It breaks the flow audibly
ok no its the basically saying preference as a fact shes the worst any fuck dang and fuck seth
wait did she not say this is my opinion in this one
she did for part 1
Something something tiktok brain
assuming smiles gives women grace is a big leap
i like it she's just a different style of humor but same sort of content as that one guy that posts on youtube who isn't terrible and has a lot of stupid memes in his video
the humor is very British
sorry humour
casually explained?
Fibonawcci...
shes actually homophobic i fear
scared of men wearing crop tops
that's a fuckin leap
Bro it's just not in the golden ratio smh
Read a book
no she covered her original crop top opinion where it was more that she hated it untucked
how the fuck can you tuck a crop top
can you explain that to me?
see that's what I was confused about
Don't crop the top
draw a diagram perhaps
don't crop just tuck

Hope this helps
ya hence she hates crop tops
]hence
See that’s just cropphobic
she is homophobic
the fits she pulled up had shirts that were sitting at waist height when untucked
I think??? the examples she chose as being bad were people that thought they also needed to buy a size up on a boxy crop
so it cancelled itself oit
😭
no i think she hates crop tops, some were not baggy
its just not that deep i feel like
really i can't tell how much of it is a bit
if im not supposed to take her seriously 10/10 gr8 b8 m8
I was confused about where the bit was
:caught:
Dry british humor that isn’t making it across well?
not to me ig
i hate the british as well that doesn't help
Its also her hating baggy jeans riding low on the hips
this is why i dislike it
see she dislikes crop tops
and works backwards from that
its really that simple i think
I was going in expecting a meta breakdown of how women approach menswear discussion
like the example she gave of misogynistic men trying to do that to women and the flaws in that approach
her good outfits are the ones she likes, the bad ones are the ones she doesn't, and it has all this stupid math to either mock people or make her sound smarter or both
anyway, wear rick
skip this problem
I think I might have to agree with smiles on this
ultimately just comes off as "these are my menswear opinions/preferences as a woman"
You have destroyed all fashion content
Damn
its just like, viewing fashion through the lens of trying to get laid is so boring man
do not care
Agreed
and functionally thats all this is
just inverted
how does the casual tie fit into the golden ratio
ok I got to the liminal space part and it just seems like she found a reason to shit on sagging pants

not really sure what liminal spaces as a concept have to do with it when she just diluted it to "a space that makes me feel uncomfortable"
its using the actual definition of it being a transitional space. Which is a reaching a bit
:xd: ok i didnt read anything said before, but after watching the first half i still dissagry with trying to boil "good style" down to a small diferance in if the waist stits at 1/3 or ,6whtever. I just think fashion cant be made into a set of strict rules that "just work"
I'm assuming this is a bit bc seriously trying to equate the threshold of a metaphysical plane to the jeans gap is um
an interpretation
she has a weird hate of crop tops on men, idk why like yeah there are plent of bad fits with a super cropped shirt but
there are also lots of good ones
uhhhhhhh
she brought up the vertical stripes make you look taller point
it still feels to "do this beacuse its right and math says so" than i think should be said about fashion
Seth :seth:
:xd: oh no baggy jeans bad beacuse it makes you look short
she starts laughing off the math fashion guys then quickly becomes what she was complaining about
yeah I'm not familiar with the meta so I'm assuming the how to look taller stuff is probably meant for them
what a wild ride
was a bit confused why she pivoted there from wanting to explain proportions in general
I think this is fun
The lens of wanting to look taller is a relevant topic, the use of a liminal space is reaching
In a photo maybe but won't you just look your height in person?
I mean I guess
but like oman mentioned it's a bit reductive to seemingly use that to apply rigid rules
tbh i think he was more laughing that they were using the wrong math. but i still agree the whole math based fashion thing is dumb
You can camouflage it a bit. Also wearing lifts inside your shoes is a thing which can disguise it as well
it does not work
the Floridian politician special
Also chunky shoes/heeled boots can add a bit of height without looking out of place, unlike the florida special
what i love about all of this is not anything to do with the math bullshit or liminal space or whatever nonsense which is clearly just some hot takes as it's like her 8th video on menswear and she's out of ideas
what i love about it is we are seeing in real time someone who is in the zeitgeist and connected with other "influencers" kicking off a real reaction against the baggy jeans and crop tops of the moment. we are seeing the zeitgeist being shifted in realtime. this is a proto version of the normcore article of 2011
if you're short enough in aura that you're measuring inches from risers, outfits, and heels, it's not really going to matter lol
not in the way that those people think that height magically offers
Nah but the incels care way to much
yup
We are back to full rick
Kiss 👏 heels 👏
The real chad move is just wear gogo boots for that extra half a foot of height of course
the golden ratio thing was a bit odd for me bc it kinda seemed like she just likes a different trend
it does really just seem like she has a taste and is using "rules" to argue that it is the correct taste
some of the examples she pulled up as being subjectively better would look frumpy now

like 4 and 6 here look quite sloppy
They’re all very baggy and form hiding
most of these are... just meh
like they are fine outfits but nothing crazy here
yeah theyre really just clothes on a body
I think the problem is that tall people are better than short people in every way
So it’s hard to disguise that
:xd:
Jokes aside, don’t wear lifts
It’s obvious and you’ll look stupid
too late im buying this https://vspconsignment.com/en-us/products/sacai-wallabees-suede-boot-1-42084-40
These are fine! Other than being Clark’s
Nah see if you wear lifts and magically breach the 6 foot tall barrier you win life
ok i cant take her seriously after this was in another video, as a good thing

wait
that's what I was getting
like in 2010? low rise was in right
which ig she likes so she's highlighting that so it would be on trend for its time
Cosplay
It’s cosplay
what 😭
she said this wasnt serious in the vid summary so really everyone should be mad at the dumbass men in the comments earnestly agreeing with the video
what is the context for this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YeWKsK_sOzw im honestly not sure this video is kinda all over the place

Wait i just turned on the sound and apparently she's br*tish so yeah basically I'm with smiles on this one
what are the name of those sandals?
it flipped the dadcore switch on me
no clue
Tevas maybe
The real dadcore is birkenstocks, need that arch support for those aging hips
:looky: im so lost she posted this as a "great outfit" like 4 months before this video

this is like the exact pants thing she was on hating
:whybuffet:
It’s because the jacket is long enough to hide the top of it
second half she talks about hating the shape of wide pants like that that balloon out. beacuse it makes you "look sort"
She hates crop tops and seeing boxers/skin. That fit doesn’t show skin
What a loser
Skin rules
