Is there a way to switch to X11? plasma-workspace-x11 crashes

My friend has been having some trouble with Wayland (on bazzite-nvidia, GTX 1050 Ti) and I've been wondering whether switching to X11 could fix many performance issues he encounters (Significant FPS drops + constant stutters in games). X11 logs show this:
[ 538.170] (II) LoadModule: "nvidia"
[ 538.170] (WW) Warning, couldn't open module nvidia
[ 538.170] (EE) Failed to load module "nvidia" (module does not exist, 0)
[ 538.170] (EE) No drivers available.

So far, my other friend with a GTX 1660 Ti hasn't experienced any of those issues. Could this also be caused by a pre-16xx card? My question is: How to switch to X11 to check if it fixes anything? It is probably unsupported, but still, did anyone find a workaround?

What image is your friend using? 1050 Ti is only supported by the closed module variant.

Check rpm-ostree status If it is open there will be "open" in the image name.

it's without open Deployments: ● ostree-image-signed:docker://ghcr.io/ublue-os/bazzite-nvidia:stable

40% load and 72c is way too much Looks like that GPU needs cleaning and maybe thermal paste replacement. Also 1050 Ti is ancient, and missing a lot when it comes to vulkan compatibility. It can and will be significantly slower compared to Win. Especially in some more demanding 3D games. I know I have one of those. Also mine tops at 55c under 100% load.
