First/second pair of shoes
Hi Ive only ever bought sandals (like birkenstocks), runners or joggers (idk what y'all call them), and basketball shoe to play in. Also I'm new to actually buying clothes that aren't for sport.
So I was wondering what are a good pair or two pairs of shoes to get started with?
Ik that is very generic but I'm not entirely sure what my own style is yet. But I like being minimal, so not techwear or super streetwear-y style.

Vans authentics
Converse chuck 70s
Cant go wrong with new balance 2002rs, 996s or 557s (different models same brand)
if you wanted to expand out of sneakers, could think about loafers as well
White canvas sneakers. Brown leather derbies or loafers. Traditional leather shoes are probably more challenging and expensive to get into, though.
i like the 996s, for colour just anything with neutrals, right?
mhm, i agree but rn i aint even got a decent pair of sneakers, but its a good idea cos they would work well with more "sophisticated" looks (idk how to describe it)
by white canvas sneakers, do you mean literally any primarily white sneaker? or are these typically on the slimmer profile rather than having a builkier look to them
for the derbies/traditional leather shoes:
also if it helps i dont particularly like wearing shoes that have heel drop (where the heel is higher than the rest of the foot), find it uncomfortable over long periods of time, ig its fine if your not standing/walking around much
idk why, maybe its just me i dont really like the look of either, but vans authentic dont look too bad, it could also be a case of "ive never worn them, so how would i know"
Vans or Converse, like Art suggested.

They don't have much heel. But leather shoes can be hard to size correctly, and need to be broken in, and even then aren't as comfortable as sneakers, in my experience.
Yeah p much!
yeah makes sense tho about the comfortability
would it be dumb to get a lighter toned sneaker than smth more darker toned? or is that just end up buying things for the sake of buying them...
