a 95 mass percent solution of ethanol is further diluted with water if the mole fraction of ethanol in dillute solution is 0.25 what is the mole fraction of water in the dilute solution is it still an ideal solution
dude what is going on in this question

ye
so
do this
assume 100g soln
95 gram ethanol then
5g water
calculate moles for both
now moles of ethanol will remain same on dilutio
calc new moles of water for 0.25 ethanol
wait wtf molefraction of water in dilution shouldnt it be 0.75
but like how do i calculate that
whats the ans
i dont know its a assignment question
wait ans is in last part only but i dont think this is what they inteded to ask
as per the question u typed
mole fraction of ethanol + mf of water = 1
so mf of water in dilute soln = 0.75
i assume they wanted to know mf of water before dilution
but ye as it is ans should 0.75
but like then why is the first part given
thats why i said this is not what they inteded to ask i think
and the question is it still ideal
pretty sure its still ideal
its facts based u have to learn
yh
although im not sure the ans is .75
acc to the question u typed
it is 0.75
uhh leme see if the answer is given in the book cuz some questions had
answer is given solution is not ideal
ic i was wrong
regardless of ideal or no moles wont change only volume changes
so ans should be still 0.75
so mole frac of water is .75
but how is not ideal anymore?
Ethanol water is non ideal
then yeah ok
so like we just have to use Xa + Xb = 1 in this and get answer
ok
thnks
