Help Me
Please help me. I’m so lost on what my style is, what I want it to be, and best way to achieve it. I really really like a lot of the looks on Drakes (London) Diary on instagram but with spring and summer coming up, I don’t see how they are viable to wear (lots of layering with coats). And it’s all very expensive and unjustifiable for me. I have a lot of basic colored clothing so I have a decent base, some stuff should be sent for alterations (pants). I guess I’m looking for some spring/summer informal office style, maybe a super-casual ivy style? I don’t even know I’m so overwhelmed and just want to spend my money wisely. I like pants that are not too wide or skinny, and are cropped right above the ankle. Help 😢

if you are feeling lost I wouldn't buy anything at the moment, but instead go check out #inspiration or #waywt or IG and compile some stuff you like especially for the coming season. Then post them in here, its good to take a broad look at what you are finding appealing in clothes and maybe find some common threads that run through a lot of outfits then you have stuff you can look at buying to move in that direction with your style.
People still dressing for semi-cold at the moment in waywt so I’d recommend going through the highlights archives like #jul2024-top-waywt #jun2024-top-waywt for some good heat/summer vibe fits
it can be important to recognise that this isn't a race when you're feeling overwhelmed. there's no time allocation where you need to have achieved something by a date. style and fashion something that's lifelong. your best decisions are going to come with time and thought, not from action because of a feeling of being overwhelmed.
take a step back to understand what you truly like and why it inspires you. it'll help you identify what it is you actually want.
Thank you thank you thank you. Think I needed to hear some of this badly. I’ll continue to parse through and honestly, compiling a mood board sounds fun to me. I’ll come back when I have that. Thanks y’all
