IMPosssiBLE winter coat question do not even try or dlse

Looking for a winter coat for next year. NEED: - Down or similar level of warmth for negative temperatures (F or C take your pick) - thigh length - NOT BLACK OR NAVY OR DARK GREY Want: - actually cool fabric not that flimsy thin stuff that all puffers are made of, garment dyed is cool - fishtail parkas have a nice silhouette but most won’t be warm enough - not so avant garde in the cut that I look like a post apocalyptic warrior - EDIT: I also think reflective stripe details are the coolest fucking thing in the world Brands that I’ve seen hood stuff from so far: - stone island - bbs - Rick - Canada goose colllabs - man-tle Appreciate any other brands to browse over the next couple months. No budget for fun.

yep these are cute, I have been looking at Kluane (Canadian brand doing similar) too I think battenwear plays it slightly too straight if that makes sense I hadn’t seen either before though so appreciate the recs ❤️ 💖 I think surprisingly Stone Island is the closest to what I’m looking for so far, they have some crazy fabric treatments

Isdo by natal design? (Comes in orange too) How do you feel about this style? There was a great instagram with a bunch of interesting smaller japanese/european techwear adjacent type stuff that’s on the tip of my tongue but can’t remember. Edit: realized this isn’t thigh length

I had a generic rothco one that was too warm over 40. if you have a bazillion dollars cockpitusa has a shearling lined leather n3b that I'm guessing is too warm for subfreezing.

Was going to suggest Kluane, they've been on my radar for a bit (and I will plug local businesses when I can lol)

Snow Peak, Nanga, and North Face Purple Label are some of my favorites for winter coats

Yeah fair enough - I do think the coats are completely custom, but not sure how much leeway that would give you in making them less "classic" looking if you decide that's not what you're looking for. Will also echo the Nanga and Goldwin recs tho!
