Dion Lee is defunct but known for tops like the first photo, can still find them on clearance or secondhand

this is a pretty on trend style rn, you'll just need to lock in your search terms on depop tbh.

ok whatever you do just do not order clothing via any mass market site like amazon/walmart/shein/temu/etc etc shit's made as cheap as possible and i guarantee you it will not look good even if the product photos look ok bc the materials they use are almost always hot garbage (acrylic/polyester that reeks of plastic smell)

I am super super positive that the pants in picture 1 are wrangler wranchers So those at least will be easy to find!

Mall brands will also have tank tops They’ll be prevalent in the women’s section

^depending on your location, amazon might actually be your best bet for these lol if you're in the US you'll be able to get them elsewhere, but I've not found anywhere in the UK that sells them

searching for y2k style or riviera style on depop may get you some decent results also skin tone has no bearing on what looks good on a person, just check #waywt-highlights

well that’s one of the dumbest things i’ve read today lol a good proportion of the members here are American, and are some of the most stylish people i’ve ever met, sounds like you run in the wrong crowds lol

i gotta say, this is just wrong. Some of the best dressed people in this server almost exclusively thrift. And as someone who made the excuse of being semi rural as why i thought my local thrifts were bad i bought a pretty amazing jacket for $5 yesterday

also it’s entirely relative. i know i’d have a field day in a mid western thrift store

in terms of access and cost secondhand is probably your best bet, be it depop or ebay or poshmark (sometimes) the style you're looking for is in the zeitgeist so the stuff will not be hard to find

as someone from a working class town in north east england, i fully understand the pain. best advice i can give on the being yourself thing is either, and this is dependent on your personality and wider context, dip your toe in and slowly transition to the clothes you want to wear or jump straight in

♥ lionel ♥OP3w ago
my fashion style is already distinct but not by much
zeometer
zeometer3w ago
i mean do you want it to be distinct relative to the people in your hometown or strangers on the internet

♥ lionel ♥OP3w ago
everyone im a unique character 💅 by that i mean im a rude hoe
zeometer
zeometer3w ago
in both cases i'd say stick around and check the other parts of the server - being your authentic self is more than just wearing a distinct set of clothes plus it might be a nice contrast from where you're currently at

♥ lionel ♥OP3w ago
yeah mens clothing has proven to be quite...uncolorful
zeometer
zeometer3w ago
respectfully i think you're not looking at the right spaces and even then there's more ways to have interesting clothing than color

ooh i know this thrift store that actually had some good stuff its usually athleticwear

might be better to use a different source of curation

part of the reason ive been going fashion insane
zeometer

or to just start saving pictures and looking for the common motifs yourself are.na is a good source, ig saves are good if you're on there a lot

i think im spiraling lmao
zeometer
zeometer3w ago
but i think just being able to see the common things in the fits you like (visually and vibes) will help a great deal, especially since you aren't in like new york or somewhere sometimes once the thought train starts it is hard to slow down, i've been there, as have many people it's nearly 10pm here there's not much you can magically do to get your wardrobe but you have an idea kinda of what you want to look like and some suggestions of brands i would keep looking, here, on ig (@watchingnewyork is a good account) or tiktok if you can stomach it and also try to find something not-clothes related to enjoy; thinking solely about clothes will hurt your brain after some time

♥ lionel ♥OP3w ago
it hurts so much i just wanna feel fun my life is boring so i turned to obsessing over fashion lol
oman121
oman1213w ago
I think zeo has a great point about recognizing common aspects of fits that you like even if the whole fit isn't exactly how you want to dress, I would hay very very few of my inspo pics are 100% perfect to how i want my style to be but I find there's lots of stuff i want to pull a certain element from like maybe i really like the way the pants in a certain fit look, or the colors of another.
♥ lionel ♥
♥ lionel ♥OP3w ago
im going to try and make the weirdest combos from the shit in my closet
oman121
oman1213w ago
that's good, I fall into the I need new clothes to freshen up my stuff spiral every few months and feel like I need to buy something or my fits are going to be boring , but honestly the most fun i have with clothes is just wearing what you have in new ways, the obsessing over needing something new and different usually leads me to bad purchases that were poorly thought out.

♥ lionel ♥OP3w ago
time to distance myself from fashion for idk a week oh i had old money obsession for like one day and spent 35 dollars i think i regret it
zeometer
zeometer3w ago
yeah it's always worth sitting on an idea for a little bit to see if you like the item or if you're just reacting on impulse or anger or anxiety or something
