AMD Desktop Only Build is Broken

From two separate systems, using two separate downloads of the ISO, I was unable to install Bazzite due to some rw error. There are other issues: 1. The download mirror is limited to 1.5mbps (other downloads are downloaded at around 1gbps) 2. The download fails half way through and recovers after restarting. This happened during both download attempts. 3. Installing the ISO on a usb drive takes an incredibly long time. 4. The same USB drive was used, but has been used very recently for other installs. It's known to be good. 5. It's not my file system. I've installed about 3 different distros during the weekend without error. I'm going to try installing the Gnome version after writing this post.

This sounds like some localized cloudflare issue to me

May help to take the rebasing approach from silverblue/kionite

Try downloading the Desktop/AMD/No option. Wait for the download to finish. See if you can reproduce, please.

Oh, sorry -- that's the gnome build. My mistake, it's the KDE variant. The Gnome version downloads anywhere between 200 - 350 mbps. I have 2gb net for reference. The 1mpbs isn't an ISP issue.

interesting that's still faster than your quoted 1.5mbps by 8x

Give it a bit of time. My download would start at 6MB, then just teeter as the download went on. See if it likewise fails at around the half way mark, if you would, please. Would be interesting to see if it also fails at the same point. Clicking "Try again" or "resume" allows the download to finish.

I'm running at about 10% for the KDE image but full speed on the GNOME

There is a checksum file alongside the download Check against that

My apologies. I didn't see that. checksum matches

The exact error I'm getting when installing (both now on the KDE and Gnome versions):
The following error occurred while installing the payload. This is a fatal error and installation will be aborted.

The command 'ostree admin instutil set-kargs-rhgb quite root=UUID=[uuid here] rw' exited with the code 1.

To just do a sanity check, I've installed Fedora KDE on my device successfully. I was thinking it was the usb device if both failed. Moreover, I tried BTRS and a standard filesystem layout. I mirrored the standard system layout for the Fedora install. I'm happy to attempt the re-install and collect logs... I just need a bit of hand-holding in that regard, since I don't see any means of collecting logs during the install process.

I'd try and install Fedora Kinoite, if that works just rebase to Bazzite KDE (the rebase instructions are to the right of section where you download the ISO on the Bazzite website)

I'll give it a try. Thanks.
