We need more information to help you. Before launching the game again, open the Mod Manager and use the "Generate debug info" option, then send the zip file produced here in this channel.
If you need to access older log files, see https://docs.ficsit.app/satisfactory-modding/latest/faq.html#Files_Logs
Here you go:
Thank you.

Persistent Paintables can be updated to 1.3.0
Curve Builder can be updated to 1.1.0-pre.1
Update these mods, there may be fixes for your issue in doing so.Huh, never seen this one before. Looks like your mod cache is corrupted, I think there's a button to clear it somewhere
I'll give it a shot.
I didn't see where to reset the cache...so, I relocated it. Afterwards, there was one mod that needed updated and I tried it. Here's the debug log:

Update these mods, there may be fixes for your issue in doing so.that version is for the experimental branch, and I think you're not using that branch so you shouldn't need it
I've got it set to steam... (I do have epic experimental installed). I just tried to update 2 mods this time...and, it still shutdown.

Update these mods, there may be fixes for your issue in doing so.I think it might be because I have so many mods. I created another profile...and, it's working just fine.
I don't have a good enough connection to download your zip at the moment (I'm basically in a field 😆), but what do you mean by "still shutdown"? Too many mods is generally not a problem
It just closes up. I don't think it even did the updates.
SMM closes?
Oh wow, thanks for helping me. Yeah. SMM closes.
Huh that's definitely unexpected, nothing in your original log suggests why
@Mircea (Area Actions) any ideas why SMM would spontaneously close?
I just added 7 mods to the game using the manual method and, it worked flawlessly.
I am aware of it sometimes crashing while updating mods, but I didn't have time to look into it. Not sure if it's happening on some specific mod versions or just in general
I can't tell you about specific mods...but, from the last debug, I had 394 mods (holy cow!) and after switching from my test profile (13 mods?) to my original profile, SMM crashed again - or, just shutdown.
Ok 394 might be a new record
I didn't know...everybody just keeps making cool as hell mods and I just have to hit the add button... 🙂
Huh, so just switching to the profile causes the crash? That's new
Yup. With that many mods, switching to the old profile caused a crash.
@Mircea (Area Actions)
Can you send your
profiles.json
from %appdata%\ficsit
and the lock-<brokenprofilename>.json
from <your game install dir>\FactoryGame\Mods
?sure. just sec
Just to manage expectations, I won't have time to look into it at least until this weekend
No worries. Thanks for helping me.
@Mircea (Area Actions) I just had a random idea to have winrar do an archive test on all the mod files. It found the following errors:
Since it crashes while trying to install some mods, that sounds about right, but SMM shouldn't crash from corrupted files, the only way I can see it crashing is a null pointer, or some threading issue
Hmmm...wish I could help more.
@Mircea (Area Actions) It's been a while. Any ideas? Maybe WAY too many mods??
Haven't had time to look into it, sorry, uni has been keeping me busy. I'll try to check it when I get home in a few hours
Cool cool...thanks!
I'm not getting the crash, but I am getting this

Not sure why I'm getting that though, it usually happens when SMM doesn't get any version for the mod, but I've restarted SMM 3 times already and it's still happening
Huh, that is weird. Do I have 2 listings for unique turbine?
Oh, it was because I replaced my profiles.json with yours, so my server also selected that profile, which doesn't support servers
But I could now reproduce the crash
Hmm, and now it's not happening
You know,...it kinda happens that way with me too. It'll say there are updates and when I click on update, it brings up the window trying to connect or something...but, then it closes. Sometimes, it'll work just fine. Lately though, closes everytime. When I reopen, I no longer have addons that need to be updated. If I add another one, it'll pause for a bit...then close. Reopen, addon was not added.
Since I can't reproduce it anymore, I made a build of SMM you can use that will show a message box when it crashes and saves the crash to a log

ok! excellent! I'll try it right now.
Here's that log. Although, there was no message box. I grabbed a screenshot of what I had seen before it crashed.

And that's it.
After this crash, I deleted the log and ran the app again. I attempted to install your belt to inventory mod and here's the file
The crash isn't going to be in that log, but in the file mentioned in the message box, which should be under
%localappdata%\SatisfactoryModManager\crashes
No message box was shown...but, I'll check that location.
There is no crashes directory.
Try this build. It's not an installer, just the SMM exe directly, and you have to run it from command prompt, so that you can then copy the output from there after it crashes

SatisfactoryModManager-debug.exe
ok
Here's a screen export
Looks like there should have been more, but the crash was so long command prompt's history couldn't keep it all?
damn. you're right. what about powershell?
Maybe, or add
> somefile.txt 2>&1
at the end of the command to just dump it all in a fileOk. I'll do that.
It's still doing something. I told it to add zoop machines and it's just sitting there saying "Apply one change" hovering over it gives me crossed circle sign... Shall I click on the close button?
Yeah, you can close it and try again
something is still going on...
going to quick lunch. 10min max
Just got back...it looks like it installed the mod. 😦 Here's the log file
took 7 minutes to install that mod?? LOL I dunno what to do. 😦
It seems like it was just taking a long time to download some mods, but it should have been showing some progress
Just sits there. The play button is red.
this version just did an update without any issue. Dunno if it'll help, but, here's the log file:
