HDR black screen and flickering issues on AMD gpu with 4k60 TV
Hey there,
I am running bazzite-deck on my HTPC with an Saphire Pulse RX 7900 XTX. When i enable HDR in Game Mode, i get black screen and flickering.
When quitting a game and it returns to game mode, it starts to flicker hard and often just black screen.
Also when chanigng graphics settings in RDR2 I get a black screen.
When HDR is disabled everything works fine.
have to turn the pc off and start again to solve.
Already tried different cables etc.
Anyone has experienced the same?
EDIT: a HDMI Fibre Optic Cable cable solved the issue in the end! FIBBR 8K HDMI Fibre Optic Cable from amazon https://www.amazon.de/dp/B09L13VWR4 is what i use now

you are leaving out a lot of information here before someone will even be able to attempt to help you
* is this a monitor or a tv?
* are you using hdmi or displayport?
* is VRR on?
* has this worked before?
* are you on the newest image?
i have not run into the issue but i also do not try to push 4k60 with hdr, i do 1440p@180hz with hdr instead and it works fine.
Oh sorry
- it’s a tv
- DisplayPort but it’s the same with HDMI port
- no VRR supported by the TV
- has never worked
- yes on the latest image
Oh… I updated bazzite yesterday and now I can’t replicate the errors. Maybe they are gone. I will run the pc with HDR enabled the next days and see what happens
OK no the issue persists BUT I tested a new HDMI cable which solved the issue completely. I can now enable HDR and have no problems.

I just read about this on Reddit, can't remember where. It some issue with my TV refresh rate and HDR. maybe this helps someone else 🙂
