How to disable cec?
Hi, I am using bazzite-deck-gnome and have my mini pc connected to my tv in the lounge using an active displayport 1.4 to hdmi 2.0b adapter and it forces the tv to switch to the pc source, I guess using cec. I have used "systemctl disable" to disable all 3 of the cec related services (cec-onboot, cec-onpoweroff, cec-onsleep) but the pc is still forcing a switch to the pc hdmi connection on the tv on boot. Is there anywhere else I need to check to disable cec? I ask because I get shouted at if I reboot the pc whilst other family members are watching tv, as the tv switches to the mini pc input on boot. 🙂

Go to your bios it’s in there i forgot what’s it’s under but I’m 99% sure it’s there
Yeah, have checked the bios but unfortunately it has no options regarding cec.
It’s called erp I’m pretty sure just double check it’s disabled
Have you tried turning off cec in the tv settings that should fix the problem but it wont obviously work for other devices if that doesn’t bother you
CEC support doesn't exist on desktop PCs
Especially through a DP adapter
Something else is going on here
I beg to differ, because if I disable CEC on the tv, it stops switching to the pc input on boot if I have the tv displaying a different source (satellite reciever). If I enable the 3 x cec services, including cec-onpoweroff and then shutdown the pc, once the pc has powered off the tv then switches off automatically, so clearly cec is working. Apparently displayport 1.4 does something called cec snooping/tunneling which does have the effect of providing cec functionality over displayport when connected to a hdmi port using an active adapter like I have. For anyone that is using a displayport 1.4 port on their pc connecting to hdmi and wants cec functionality, this is the active adapter I am using https://www.club-3d.com/en/detail/2442/displayportt_1.4_to_hdmit_2.0b_hdr_active_adapter/
