Mike here :). I'd try a download manager (I use Free Download Manager or Motrix) and see if that helps. If that fails I'd install Fedora Silverblue (since you want gnome) and it has a torrent. Then follow the instructions on the website for rebasing to Bazzite
Downloading the bazzite-gnome-nvidia-stable-amd64.iso image right now and going to check the checksum and make sure that there isn't a problem with the ISO
Just checked the ISO image is fine

thanks Mike, ill get on this in a few days and come back to you...been having problems with windows 11 hence the desire to switch but i think ive improved it now so with a bit of luck ill be able to carry out the bazzite process...
mike that worked, the checksum numbers now match π
Good luck, hope the install goes smoothly this time π
No joy π¦ followed all steps, it was going well until i got this fatal error message...

Are you installing with manual partitioning like it's shown in the video guide on the website? That usually avoids that error if you trying to dual-boot
I'm getting the same error on the KDE version
I'll try this though (whenever i figure out what guide we are talking about)
Below the Bazzite download section on the bazzite website. There should be an installation video. Or you can use the bazzite docs https://docs.bazzite.gg/General/Installation_Guide/Installing_Bazzite_for_Desktop_or_Laptop_Hardware/
yes Mike, i followed the steps meticulously! ill try the process again later see if anything changes, maybe i made a mistake...
If that fails, try install Fedora Kinoite and rebase to Bazzite. The instructions are on the right side of the page where the download button is.
is fedora kinoite right as you said fedora silver blue in a previous message? or are they one in the same?
Fedora Silverblue = Gnome, Fedora Kinoite = KDE. Most people use KDE from the stats
I see you doing gnome, so Silverblue
ok, so i tried again, all the partitions i did yesterday were still in play. but this time the installer had a partition error message. i checked everything and it all looks how it should be as per your video but now it shows error π¦ no idea how to fix it... here are the error messages... when i did all the partitions yesterday, there was no error, it allowed me to start the install...
should i use mini tool partition manager to delete the partition and start again?

Looking at the screenshot you didn't set the mount points e.g. /efi/boot (for the efi partition) and /boot (for the EXT4 boot partition), the labels are optional the mount points are not.
very strange because i definitely put them in... as you can see it let me past this point and onto the installation when i first tried it, showed no errors... only to come up with an error once installation had started... so, is it best for me to clear the partition with mini tool and then try it again?
It let you exit the screen but then it's showing "Error checking storage configuration". Not sure why it's not taking them if you filled them in.
ive just used mini tool to remove the partitions i had created in bazzite from your video. all i have left now is the free allocated space partition(and windows ones of course) ... im now going to try again following your video and ill see what happens π i am determined to get this done...
Good luck. Hope it works
No joy π’ same error again... add pics so you can see what I've done... got a feeling this PC specialist PC might have a block of some kind on installing other operating systems...

Next I'd try Fedora Silverblue, if that installs rebase to bazzite
Everything looks perfect with your setup so no idea why you are getting that error.
Could this be the problem? There is an option to delete all secure boot variables?

Any videos about on installing fedora silver blue?
exactly the same installer as Bazzite.
Just a different ISO file
I see, so if I follow your video again, do all the partitions the same but with a different iso that should do it! OK I'll give that a try...
That's the idea. Might end up with the same error though but at least you might be able to triangulate the issue.
Absolutely gutted... went through all of it with silverblue and got that error message again...

Looks like Fedora Atomic doesn't like something. Do you have a small SSD drive that you can through Bazzite onto without sharing the drive with Windows?
Well, after failing with this I asked pc specialist if there was a block on other operating systems, they didn't answer that but suggested I do a fresh install of windows 11 and then they would help me get it working properly. So I installed windows 11 and it also failed to install.
Gave up and let my IT mate have a look at it, turns out the SSD was knackered. She has put a new one in and reinstalled windows 11 and its now working perfectly again. For now anyways... I don't have another SSD drive, but if I bought one in a casing can I put Bazzite on that whilst plugged i through the USB? Will that work?
That would work fine for testing Bazzite, might not be the best solution for extended use though
