Help me step my pants game up

I wear dockers ultimate slim fit chinos and that's it. I want to switch it up for spring summer 2025 suggest pieces for me to check out. I don't want too baggy but I'd be open to straight fits because I see that seems to be the style. I'd wear these with linen blend button up full sleeve, or camp collar short sleeve shirts, or knit polos For footwear loafers and boots Help me!!!

off the top of my head uniqlo, abercrombie, bronson mfg, and certain j.crew cuts (original, classic and maybe giant) would all be under $200 USD most of jack donnelly as well though i think shipping might take it just above $200 if you're willing to go secondhand then most american "heritage" brands (ll bean, polo ralph lauren, lands end, etc) will likely be under $200 even when factoring in shipping from the US. buying secondhand might be a way to try out pleated pants which imo would work with the stuff you're planning to wear

Just chiming in to say I wouldn't buy J.Crew if you're in Canada unless it's second-hand. The mark-up is insane here. (I wore a J.Crew shirt today but I bought it on eBay)

Naked and Famous (based in Canada) has a lot of fun fabrics. Go for one of their lighter weight jeans in True Guy or Strong Guy fit.

seconding N&F, specifically the 'weird guy' cut if it works for you. Great slim-but-not-too-slim jeans/chinos

I'm going to look into all of these and send pics of stuff I like and get your opinion Also, I can buy new beams plus stuff for pretty cheap and shipping and import fees is a non factor - should I look into that brand for pants too? As for type of pants I should be looking into pleated trousers/chinos?
Walmart the Conqueror
I’d recommend trying on some pleated/double pleated pants. That’s what led to me becoming more open to wider fits

Noted !! I'm not sure I'm ready for that haha, maybe for boots it would look fine What other fabrics and styles should I look at? I don't really wear denim much anymore, but what about corduroy, wool? What about styles? I've seen the m51 pants - are those popular?

do you want things that are popular or things that you like? corduroy is good, so is wool, so are double knees, so are carpenter or painter pants. there's a lot of pants out there thay can be worn in different ways, even with the stuff you've earmarked. i'd check #waywt or #inspiration and, if you see someone wearing a pair of pants you like, asking for an id (people like talking about their clothes here lol)

I'm open on what I like I think the issue with some of my fits is that I've gone oversized on some of my outerwear, which looks odd when I have slim fit chinos on So I want to try more relaxed fits with pants also more variety I think would be nice But at the same time in spring/summer I won't wear as much outerwear, and my tops won't be as oversized , so I guess I need to consider that too
