Can't open curseforge.appimage using steam
I got a legion go yesterday and switched it to bazzite, I've been trying for the past hour to get curseforge working so I can play modded minecraft with my partner but I cannot get it to open in steam, I've done everything I can find to help on reddit and Google and I'm just stuck. please help

I tried using something called appimagelauncher but that didn't work
it just loads forever
use gear lever, its preinstalled
you use it to "install"(for lack of a better term) an appimage
also i suggest using prism launcher instead of curseforge launcher, its on the flatpaks software store and you can just download it, supports curseforge + modrinth + a bunch of other modpack sources, works better than the curseforge launcher
I conaidered that but it looks so complicated compared
its pretty much the exact same way of using it, the ui is just not as pretty
but if you dont choose to use prism, gear lever is what you are looking for
you just open it up, click the plus button in the top left, select the appimage file in the file viewer, then click "move to the app menu"
how do I add it to steam after?
add a non-steam game, and it should just show up in the list
if it doesnt show up, then restart your device

uninstall it the same way you installed it, what did you use?

yeah i dont have the answer to that on hand, maybe someone else will be able to
from what ive looked up, there is not a simple way of uninstalling programs that you installed like this
so for future reference dont do that

also uh curseforge still isn't opening
are you able to launch curseforge without steam

weird, i am able to launch appimages just fine
maybe steamdeck mode behaves in a way i am not familiar with
steam just says "running" and when I'm in game mode it has a loading steam thing
no it's not running in desktop mode too
make sure you selected the one you created with gear lever and not with that appimageinstaller thing you used

it's in the appimages folder that the gear one made

yeah that also seems like an easy bypass
its also genuinely just a better launcher, curseforge has a bunch of weird bloatware(and ads, gross..), and i swear i got better performance after switching away from curseforge
