Nvidia GPU - freeze on startup

Greetings, I've been having issues lately with my PC booting and freezing either before login screen or right after. I was having these issues on arch with KDE Wayland but it seems it's haunting me to bazzite. Without changes it either freezes shortly after boot or it doesn't for the rest of the runtime. Cannot launch a tty at all so I wanted to know what steps I can take in order to get the logs in order to troubleshoot this which may be some issue with latest Nvidia driver. Tried emergency mode but journalctl has no persistence. Also, system responds to CAPS/NumLock toggles
Solution:
(SOLUTION) Update to Bazzite Stable >= 41.20250325 (Includes update to Nvidia driver to 570.133.07-1 which fixes issues.

I had to use ostree 1 sadly hoping we can just rollback gpu drivers or something but I would also expect a lot more people complaining about it so I dunno

I am following the topic on this exact issue on Nvidia forums and it seems a new driver update 570.133.07 is reportedly fixing this issue Checked github releases for bazzite and there's already an update with this driver on the testing branch (testing-41.20250322) @Marko aka KDE Enjoyer

thing is if i change anything on the monitors it will freeze one completely but as long as i can boot successfuly and not change monitors around im good dont forget to PIN the ostree that works before you update next

i believe ostree 1 gets removed if not pinned when you update
Marko aka KDE Enjoyer
Back I may try the testing branch then and see where it lands me 1 is pinned for me now For the screen freeze I have a fix If U go display manager and change the settings so like the refresh rate then apply. Then take em back and apply it stops it occuring so frequently Assuming Ur 2nd screen freeze is this https://discord.com/channels/1072614816579063828/1339313775295332435/1339313775295332435

any of the screens may freeze, sometimes even the whole system does not entirely sure its the same issue since this either happens on startup shortly after SDDM login or when brightness/display changes even had to disable the damn night light or night mode
Marko aka KDE Enjoyer
Yes happens to me but U can tty out of it Oh nm then That is different not experienced anything like that since a test build Night light does cause it for me too though

lately i've just let my PC into suspend/sleep mode and more often than not it works wonders which is surprising since i've never been able to properly let my pc go into sleep since i moved to linux

Thats great news. I'm probably going to wait til stable release, unsure if rebasing rn would mess my shit
Marko aka KDE Enjoyer
so I feel I haave got a haang of it I pinned 1 then I did the rollback command which send 1 to 0 then from 0 I rebased to testing u dnt have to do it but that seems safe enough to me

thing is if the new version didnt work for you, you'd lost your previous ostree 1 that worked if im not mistaken
Marko aka KDE Enjoyer
It was still pinned I should have a ostree 2 I think soon but not been at my pc much Otherwise I don’t get the point of pinning

actually i misread, you kept it pinned so it should either still appear as 1 or as 2 (the latter would make much more sense unless there's entry/space constrictions) By the way, ublue just released Stable version 4h ago with the new driver lmao finally
Marko aka KDE Enjoyer
lmao I NEED TO REBASE NOW ABORT MISSION ABORRRTT I just hope it was kind of due to people mentioning it on github

its probably just on schedule. I dont think many people have this issue at all which is weird, i'd expect more outcry. This is almost surely a Linux only issue, i had it on 2 different distros at least and i guess most used distro's have really long release cycles that maybe not many of the most popular distros even had the troubling driver yet. According to the nvidia discussion it seems its mostly an issue with RTX 20s users, whats your GPU? My main issue that i found later after starting to use Bazzite is the inability of downgrading drivers but I understand the nature still im happy i moved on from Arch after more than a year of daily driving, i liked it but most of the time i lack the patience or time to troubleshoot and the fact that overtime updates break configs and it starts becoming a huge mess. Unfortunately way too many apps use the ~/.config to store non config (eg.: game saves) and clearing/reseting is a huge headache
