Jacket/layers

:discourse: I feel like I'm lacking in layering pieces/jackets to go with some of the stuff in the direction I want to bring my style, the first 2 pics are kinda the way im trying to go, I don't have much to wear as layers with these pants? or tbh shirts i have like one white shirt. I'm thinking maybe a blazer but I'm struggling to find one I really like so I thought I would see what people have. Also just happy to hear brands people think might have stuff in this kinda vibe. Generally trying to lean maybe a bit more avant garde? I love some of the lighter colored yohji pieces I've seen I cant see a black blazer working all that well. But ill take recs on anything from shirts knits to jackets I'm trying to what's out there that I'm missing in my searches posting now but trying to pull some inspo ill post in a sec

With pants as high waisted as yours, you may need to untuck to facilitate a big drapey blazer. Like the meat fit I would look for jackets made of polyester or viscose. Wool occasionally can accomplish this too I actually think black would be a fine colour choice, or you could go for more beiges or ecru Also remember that the base layer does not necessarily have to be oversized or drapey to get the look you’re going for, because you can just layer drapey stuff on top Your vest fit from today is good as well

Yeah i think that makes sense on untucking to get the shirt to get the effect

i would honestly just go to boutiques and try on blazers the other thing is, and art does this classically very well but like, pretty much any jacket can sub for a blazer if you wear it over a shirt and tie

yeah for sure, honestly im not locked into a blazer at all, more i just want some more outerwear in that direction. i feel like a lot of my stuff leans more workwear/even kinori vibes right now than i want it to

i think a blazer is the natural fit with your inspo i also think the best bet is looking at weirder blazers in person but obviously thats super hard outside of nyc

also cheap, so would not be a huge loss if i dont end up wearing a blazer a lot

My vote is already in as pro- this one TRR people didn’t button it so it looks slightly fucked up but I like the cut of it a lot and I think your wardrobe is pretty well positioned to make it work both silhouette and color wise

i like it the only potential negative (other than fit i suppose) is it sparking up potential connotations to ivy or preppy style but i think you veer far enough away from those that it's not really a factor

At a glance I don’t think it will drape like you want it to

because of the wool or cut?

I can’t be certain but it looks like it has some canvassing and with the amount of fabric in the front of a DB, it may fight against falling to the side like in your meat inspo pic

It also doesn’t look like the fabric will do what this one does either

All that being said, if it’s cheap you can always just try it and see if you like it The length looks right

yeah yeah i see that, there's another option im looking at but i think is probably similar but i like the color more i think that will be the first try
