How does Theo hide the Mac's Menu Bar without occupying screen space?

Check out this clip to understand what I mean: https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxHcpD6n_h-TEBCEqtgXkTKSZr_P6Styt_?si=9yi9WYjidKj_oG40 Mac's system settings has the option Always that automatically shows/hides the Menu Bar on hover (See image below). However, the space it normally takes up is still preserved so apps' windows can't take the entire screen. I know theo might be using an app for that... Does anyone happen to know which app is that?

Solution:
So, I just set to "Always" on "Automatically hide and show the menu bar". And... It works the same as Theo's Mac! :thinkies:
Previously, when I used that set up the space was preserved, now it's working how I want it to:poohheh: ...

From what I saw in the clip, the menu bar appears on top of Arc, so that’s just the default behavior from setting “Automatically hide and show the menu bar” to always in the control center. However, if you are talking about the apps windows resizing, he mentioned rectangle, which is a (basic) window manager for Mac https://rectangleapp.com/
Rectangle
Move and resize windows in macOS using keyboard shortcuts or snap areas. The official page for Rectangle.

@Less If you take a closer look in the last second, only when Theo gets the cursor close to the top it's when the menu bar shows up and overlaps Arc

Yes, we agree on that. What I’m trying to say is the “preserved” space you see, is probably just a setting on the window manager to prevent them from growing a certain size, or have some padding around the sides.

I'll check that

Fwiw, I currently use aerospace as I used DWM/i3 on linux for window management, I have a similar spacing to Theo with a gap of 10px https://github.com/nikitabobko/AeroSpace

Well, it seems that I figured it out.

Is the empty space on top and left side what you're referring to, or are we talking about different things?

Yes, exactly! That's what I mean!

Glad we’re talking about the same thing, my suggestion is for you to find a window manager that suits you best. For Mac the most common are from raycast, rectangle, yabai, aerospace and amethyst (last time I checked) I believe any of them will give you an option to set a gap between windows

I'm using Sequoia 15.3.1. The last time I tried was with Sequoia 15.2 🤔 BTW, I'm using Rectangle
