Memory being hogged by Plasma Shell
This is extreme! And once it gets to 100%, the OS freezes on me.

that is very much likely a memory leak
when it happens again you can send us the link to your logs
maybe something stands out
plasmashell logs
while it happens:
journalctl --user --no-hostname /usr/bin/plasmashell -b 0 | fpaste
if you rebooted after it:
journalctl --user --no-hostname /usr/bin/plasmashell -b -1 | fpaste
complete logs
ujust logs-this-boot | fpaste
ujust logs-last-boot | fpaste
I get this when I run the top line:
"WARNING: your paste size (12939.4KiB) is very large and may be rejected by the server. A pastebin is NOT a file hosting service!
Uploading (12939.4KiB)...
Error: Missing paste text"
cannot replicate, my machine has been on all day
must be something specifically with your hardware or in your /home that is tripping it up

change
| fpaste
to > ~/log.txt
or somewhere else and upload it manuallyI then get this error no matter what directory I use that does have read and write permissions: fpaste: error: file '/home/gina/Documents/log.txt' is not readable
I have Nvidia 4060 graphics, that would be the only hardware that would cause issues I beleive
ok, maybe I typed it wrong. I tried again with:
"journalctl --user --no-hostname /usr/bin/plasmashell -b 0 | > ~/log.txt" and got an empty text file?
remove the pipe
here is the other one. Memory usage at 54% with only one game running - eternal lands which is a very old game that doesnt demand alot in general and is a linux version so no vms running. Everything else is closed except vpn. The memory usage keeps climbing until it hits 100 then freezes the system. My system information:

hmm the only thing i can see that is a constant here is your weather widget/plasmoid
what happens if you remove it?
nothing. I have removed all widgets and it is still doing it.
make a new user and see if it happens on a new users on the computer (assuming this is not a
deck
image)
since i cannot replicate and the log you provided only complains about the weather widgetok thank you for staying with me for this. I will try that, no my install is the basic (not gaming startup setting) KDE Bazzite install
yeah then try make a 2nd user and see if it happens there too
if it does, its some weird bug in kde that is probably hardware triggered.
if it doesnt happen then its an issue contained in your home folder
