Bluetooth headphones doesn't enable default audio output in game mode

When in game mode, If i have bluetooth headphones (samsung buds 3 pro) connected, when first pairing, it automatically sets the audio output to the headphones. When reconnecting, say just after taking the headphones out of the case, it works the same too. However, if i have since connected the headphones to another device, then want to reconnect them to the handheld, I go into bluetooth and devices and click on the previously paired headphones, it says they're connected, but they aren't, unless i go to desktop mode, that then triggers the system to add the headphones as an audio output device and switch to it. To summarise, works fine when first connecting, or reconnecting automatically, but if the headphones have since been paired with another device, manually clicking them in the bluetooth devices does not trigger audio output to add them as an audio device unless going to desktop mode. Running on a Legion go.
