Rockstar Games social club Error17(failed to initialize)
I had all my games downloaded onto my Legion go for quite some time now and I absolutely love Bazzite. When I went to go play some red dead redemption two(it doesn’t play as well on my deck) I ran into the issue of it failing to initialize the social club. To make sure this wasn’t an isolated incident, I went on to launch grand theft auto four and grand theft auto five legacy, and then I tried grand theft auto five enhanced today and I get the same error message. Being very frustrated because the most hours that I have played is in all of my rockstar games, I went ahead and put a fresh install of Bazzite on my go this morning. Immediately I downloaded grand theft auto four since it is so small… Same issue on a fresh install. I have now tried to install the AIly version on my go hoping that it will work(I’ll let you know if this fixes the issue because I am about to finish the install and try it right now). Does anybody have a solution to this issue, I really want to finish red dead redemption two and I don’t wanna play it on my steam deck because it plays it about 10 to 15 fps less than on the go. I no longer have windows installed, so I can’t even go that route and just load it through windows. Please let me know🙏🏻

Same issue again, but I just read that I can download Steam 3.0 recovery image directly from Steam. There’s a disclaimer saying that it may not work properly, but I guess I’ll find out! Either way though, I still would like a fix for Bazzite because I really do like this distro
Here is an article where someone in Windows 10 is getting the same error. Looks like there might have been a bad launcher update https://shorturl.at/UWcep (this article is from yesterday) and getting the same error as you. Probably something that only Rockstar can fix

I played enhanced and normal yesterday
And had to fight the launcher from deleting my saves
Like I said before, I also have a steam deck and all three games work on that. Definitely not my account
I ended up reinstalling Bazzite three times last night trying to get it to work with every different option you had on the site. I use the Legion go download, the ally download, and finally I chose the option of other handheld PC… Same error message on each one and I really did not want to have to reinstall to begin with because I have 62 games that were on the Lego. Approximately 3.2 TB of data that I have to re-download. It’s very frustrating and I really hate rockstar games for forcing a launcher into games that I want to play single player off-line. I really hope that someone can help me fix this problem because I am currently re-downloading all 62 of the games which should only take a couple of days…
And to top it off, I know it’s not an Internet problem because my games are downloading at 800 MB per second 🤷🏼🤷🏼🤷🏼
yeah it deleted my save too and ive been trying to catch up for 3 days
