one teacher said there will be no inversion of config as there will be 2 sn2 rxns and another one said one sn2 reaction hence inversion confused

there wont be inversion its at the same place the inversion will get reversed with another inversion

i see so the rso2 attached to the alcohol's oxygen would leave and cl would form a bond and then cn substitues cl right

yes and in both case there is inversion so at first it will invert and then invert again so the effects will cancel
