What AI tooling and workflows, if any, do Theo and/or this discord use?

I'm not generally big on the AI hype, but I've seen more and more developers I know using AI tooling like Cursor or Windsurf. I've used Copilot for two (separate) weeks in the past but ultimately stopped using it cause I found it more distracting than anything. I occassionally use ChatGPT, maybe a couple prompts a week. I'd be interested on hearing what I'm missing out on in y'alls opinion, or just generally what you use/why you like it.

Cursor and T3 Chat are the main tools Theo uses, but you seem to have already picked up on that. I personally use Supermaven for autocomplete (it's free) with vanilla Visual Studio Code and Claude for chat, and I find that it helps me move a lot faster. Obviously constantly prompting/autocompleting isn't going to help you grow as a developer, but for repetitive tasks AI can help you move a lot faster and I would argue it's almost a necessary skill in today's job market. AI is also a great way to learn about patterns, or niche features in the libraries and languages you use. I don't think it's a huge thing to miss out on, but it can be very helpful as long as you hold yourself responsible to understanding what you're writing.

Thanks for the thorough response(s) Aarvin. Yea I'm definitely not anti-AI or anything, it's just that I'm not necessarily on the hype train for it either. I do wanna check out some of these tools though and see if they've improved over my past experience with copilot, I do like the idea of avoiding boilerplate and solving random niche things here/there
