“Steam was shut down by the Linux kernel as it ran out of memory” Error
I bought Indiana Jones and the great circle a few weeks ago and have been playing it no problems on my Lenovo Legion Go running Bazzite.
The Update 3 came out and broke the game for Steam OS.
A patch later came out and fixed the game for Steam OS. I can now run the game fine on my Steam Deck again no problem.
However it is not working on my Legion Go (using the same or lower settings than the Steam Deck, lower settings than I was running on the Go before without issue) running Bazzite. I tried setting the VRAM to 3GB, 4GB, 6TB, 8TB and auto. Same outcome each time.
When running the game is Game Mode, when trying to load the game, Steam Game Mode just dies and restarts.
I then ran it in Desktop Mode and could see the error which was “Steam was shut down by the Linux kernel as it ran out of memory.” Or along those lines.
I also just received a low memory warning playing Ghost Recon Breakpoint.
I thought it might be the game but since it runs fine on my Steam Deck using the same settings and I received low memory warning on other games perhaps it might be a recent update/Bazzite/driver issue?
Any suggestions?
One other thing that has changed, I upgraded to a Lexar NM790 SSD 4TB SSD.
