casual-formal footwear recommendations
Hey MFA , I wanted to ask all of you for suggestions regarding footwear that can be worn with jeans but also formal outfits like perhaps a suit . Something like loafers but better ? :blackflame:

Good question! I’m a big loafer enjoyer but i’ve recently started wearing dress boots and western boots (pointed toe) can you send us a reference for some jeans outfits that you’d like to try?
"better" in what way? more formal, more casual, cooler looking?
derbies, tyrolean shoes, mules, boots as levi said, even leather sandals (or even a different loafer) could all work depending on the style you're going for
Well Levi I live in India it’s rather a hot country in terms of climate and Im gonna be wearing an ocbd and jeans for most of the summer , maybe chinos for some variation.
Thanks for the quick reply by the way .
by dress boots do you mean like chelseas ?
i feel like boots would go best , as well as loafers . What kind do you suggest Tassel , Penny or horsebit .
Zeomester , in terms of boots aside from chelsea what else do we have?
l really like tassel loafers personally. Can you send any photos with examples of a casual outfit and work outfit you’d like to be able to wear the new shoe with?
yessir gimme a minute

something like this sans the jacket

so im basically 18 but i look mature asf and im looking for a wardrobe overhaul for this kind of aesthetic
Zeo is a great person to keep an eye on in #waywt

He does such a great job at blending the two aesthetics together keep an eye on the shoes he is wearing in these outfits and you can decide for yourself which shoes stand out more to your personal preference

I see , will do Levi thank you
No problem!! Copy paste that last bit in search and it should pull it all up
the style of loafer style is your preference; historically horsebit and belgian were seen as "formal" but there's less distinction now. tassel might be a little harder to pair with suit based on how the pants break but it's not impossible
for boots a (lace up) dress boot is an option, as are ropers and stuff like engineer boots or cowboy boots if inclined
Thank you zeometer , will look into your advice
Tyrolean shoes are what you’re looking for. Paraboot is the ubiquitous brand but they’re available at many price points.
for comparison - tyrolean (these are clarks wallabees but paraboot and kleman are also available), rubber boots and harness boots with and without suit

I personally love Chelsea boots, although I would get ones with real leather
yessir full grain all the way
in terms of loafers do weejuns still have rhe same quality as they used to? its listed as one of the go to branda at a low budget in the mfa guide
they still hold up
if buying at retail meermin is another good option that i don't think is mentioned in the mfa guide
secondhand you may be able to find a deal on the more expensive brands (alden, allen edmonds, o'connells, etc)
