Is 87 hour asp.net course overkill for beginner
I'm going through a 87 hour course on Udemy, which I'll link below. There are small assignments at the end of every section, but nothing huge. I spend most time watching lectures. Am I wasting my time? Should I start doing projects now?

Most of us here recommend learning by doing regardless of what source of info you use.
You should be doing projects from day 1, imho
Just scope and scale your projects appropriately, like starting with hello world and "What is your name?" "how old are you?" style programs
a few days in you can easily make a BMI calculator, for example
a few weeks in, maybe a D&D character generator

Thanks for advice my friend
Unless proven otherwise, Udemy courses are mostly trash by default as well
There's a lot of free material and docs if you're stuck somewhere and need to sharpen your skills on that section
If you spend 87 hours watching a course, I can guarantee you forgot 80% of it by the end
I feel like a lot of these courses are also needlessly packed with useless information to push the total hours because it sounds like a good signal for potential buyers (Like, "Oh wow this course is PACKED")
I think 87 hours of course load for average person is opposite of attractive
Alright fuck it, I'm gonna start writing code from this point on
I'd agree
But someone who is short on money might not
