HDR Not Working on NVIDIA drivers
I've been told that HDR works on the NVIDIA drivers, but ever since installing Bazzite on my laptop, HDR still isn't an option in my display settings. Is it still unsupported or do I need to install a specific driver for it to work?

I know this is not entirely helpful but I get the option to use HDR. I use KDE. Not sure if the desktop environment matters (e.g. gnome maybe not supporting it)
Maybe ur using gnome. I have not heard any changes in regards to it supporting HDR right now but afaik it will do:

I'm using KDE as well
Not sure then. Only thing I could think of right away tbh that could be it.
Damn ðŸ˜
I think what might be the issue is that my laptop has 2 GPUs and the system may be using the integrated rather than the discrete gpu
yes no experience with laptops. Fairly noob using my works window pc atm as well. If it was a gnome user it would have been easier I guess lmao
if anything comes to mind will let u know though lol
Just to show u what normally happens now that I am home
yeah enable HDR is not an option for me at all
is the HDR on the laptop or on the monitor you hook it up to?
on the laptop screen
yes ima out of ideas XD.
I wonder if the laptop windows driver normally enabled that or if it works that way when with a laptop screen
apart from the dedicated/integrated gpu thing
it was enabled in windows if that's what you mean
na justr wondering if a driver issue can somehow impact that. Kind of nuts
I guess that is the only hdr screen u have to test with
it's not, just the primary one I'm concerned with
it works on an external display, but not the laptop display itself wtf
That's why I said to do it
U part diagnosed what is going on I guess
So not an entirely bad idea but fk knows what from here lol
I'll keep thinking
Every now and then lol
forgot my idea I had from yesterday but another idea. Disable laptop display and enable external. Then enable laptop display. Prob won't do anything and not ideal at all lol
Another idea:
- Change laptop resolution and/or refresh rate and see if anything changes
can't change the resolution

Feels like linux just does not want to recognise it but hoping some bug activates the "oh this laptop has hdr"
lol
Ur not using the home theatre image right? Just nvidia open stable?
I know there is a beta image out for home theatre
and if so hdr does not show up for that either from what I have seen in other chats
correct
didnt even know there was a HT image
fairs just in case
what is the laptop model exactly in case I see if I can research anything
Asus Zephyrus G14 2024 edition. 4060 with 16 GB RAM
