the mouse input no longer recognizes a game and interacts with the desktop instead
title sums it up. earlier today there was an update to world of warcraft (retail), and ever since the game no longer recognizes the mouse. the cursor remains as is and clicks seem to pass through into the "underlying" desktop. curiously this is not an issue for wow classic, and other blizzard games i have installed.
what can / do i need to do to fix this? thanks in advance

I'd try and boot your last Bazzite image and see if the issue persists there. Other than trying that no idea other than reporting it to WOW.
I did find this post where Windows users are now having an issue where they cannot interact with a secondary display while playing the game https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/cant-use-mouse-outside-of-game/2065668/3 So they have done something weird with the mouse settings in their last update

Do you have the setting “lock mouse to window” or similar checked in wow?
I suspect that it's related to your issue in some way
