d-block dichromate, Amines statement MCQ

Dont you think 5th and 6th mein options are a bit weird? For instance there are only 6Cr-O bonds in dichromate and since all of them are equivalent in length both options b and c should be correct and also 6th wale mein what exactly is the wrong statement?

Just a sec, how are there only 6 Cr-O bonds in dichromate? Six are equal for sure though

I'm pretty sure nitrogen dioxide ain't being released from an organic reaction

Yeah You are not getting NO2 from an amine

NimboiOPβ€’7d ago
oh wait nitrous acid is just HNO2 lmao yeah you'll just get alcohol and nitrogen (C) is wrong for 6th @Himanshu

But 5 is c right?
Himanshu
Himanshuβ€’7d ago
Ans given is c yes but isn't b supposed to be correct?
Opt
Optβ€’7d ago
Because the Cr-O-Cr linkage is gonna be different length i reckon Because it's not in resonance like the rest
Nimboi
NimboiOPβ€’7d ago
sorry why is Cr-O-Cr not just two other Cr-O bonds
Himanshu
Himanshuβ€’7d ago
Cause there are six Cr-O bonds which are equivalent and the two bridging bonds are diff right?

when they say "Cr-O" bonds i count the center bridge as 2 of them am i not supposed to do that

Oh sorry i meant b I didn't see the options
Himanshu

Yes I think those are just two Cr-O bonds i guess idk it's confusing

All are not equal
Nimboi
NimboiOPβ€’7d ago
no nevermind those two do get counted
Opt
Optβ€’7d ago
Exactly 6 of them are equal
Himanshu
Himanshuβ€’7d ago
Yes but the book says option c
Nimboi
NimboiOPβ€’7d ago
hence why the answer is "6" and not "all"

i think technically the center O can participate in resonance, but it just wont because why would oxygen want a positive charge
Himanshu
Himanshuβ€’7d ago
Yes
Nimboi
NimboiOPβ€’7d ago
also the Cr=O(+) is different from Cr=O should i mark this as solved @Himanshu ?
