European Smaller Brands needed

Hi all, I'm a Dutch male, 183cm, 72kg, with very skinny bones 🦴 Off-the-rack shopping with Dutch retailers is impossible because the fit is always off. Not only are most too big, even the ones that have smaller sizes usually have large neckholes/collars that still make it look like im wearing hand-me-downs. This happens even with 'foreign' brands like Zara, Uniqlo etc. (Im guessing this is because they make separate product lines for this market?) The only brand whos XS consistently fits right is SuitSupply. I would like more options though, I don't want to wear merino wool fine knits and tailored shits every day. Anyone that can point me in the right direction? I've placed an order on YesStyle hoping Asian clothing will fit my better, but it takes a long time to get here 😛

Based on your height and weight that doesn’t seem super far off from pretty “normal”. That said, everything fits folks differently. Do you purchase stuff based on your measurements compared to the measurements of the clothing? My rec would be to measure something that you feel fits you well, then compare that to the measurements of whatever clothes you’re purchasing.

Most sites do not feature the measurements of the clothing in that detail

Do you have pictures of stuff you think fits/doesn't fit? I ask because I'm similar frame (albeit I'm slightly taller and lighter than you) and I fit just fine in most smalls and mediums. I usually size up for Asian brands because of my height.

So i dont actually have any clothing at home that doesnt fit But this is a picture of something that fits In particular the neckline Where it sits right where my trapezius ends and my neck begins Whereas most stuff in S is too big in that it does this:

Even for shirt models that are clearly not in the oversized trend Its something that ive noticed happen in the last 6 or so years Which brands do you buy from?

The neckline might fit as you want but that top is too small for you in my humble opinion. I don't think you need to worry so much about a notional perfect neck fit personally - but my basics are from Uniqlo, Reiss, John Lewis (UK brand so probably not available to you), merz b Schwanen, velvasheen.

Yes, but most big international companies are not making separate product lines for different markets - or at least not at such a granular level. For example, Uniqlo products are basically tagged one size bigger in East Asia than they are in Europe, but they aren't making different sizes for Japan & China or Germany & the UK. H&M sizes the same across Europe etc. Smaller companies often don't bother to differentiate by continent, let alone nation. It's too expensive to design and produce different products. Velvasheen are American, merz are German, Uniqlo are notionally Japanese, Reiss are notionally British. That said, some companies will make stuff that fits your body better. Unfortunately it's quite hard to find those companies without trying on a lot of clothes.
