Please help! Bazzite is stuck on a black screen after installing Steam.
I just installed Bazzite for the first time, and after it booted up, it said it was installing Steam. Then it rebooted again, and now it's just hanging on a black screen. I've seen others have major problems if the installation was interrupted, so I'm worried about restarting it. Can someone please help me fix this?
I'm hoping to get this working in Game Mode to use as a Steam/retro console.

try press CTRL+ALT+F2/3/4/5/6 one of them should get to a terminal where you can log in. Log in with your username and password (you'll get no feedback while you type in the password). See if you can get into desktop mode with by typing in the terminal command

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get anything to show up using those key combos. I tried powering off and restarting, and now it just goes black after I see the HP logo. Any ideas? 🙂
Not sure if the "Vega 11 integrated graphics" is compatible with GameMode. You are trying to run bazzite-deck right? Maybe try the bazzite desktop image and see if that works. You can sort of get the console like experience by enabling auto login and starting steam in Big Picture Mode

Dang, it's doing exactly the same thing. After installing, the screen just went black. Finally, I powered it off and on again, and it got as far as trying to install steam. Then it said "shutting Down Steam" and restarted. When it tried to restart, the HP logo appeared like it was trying to boot up, but then the screen just went black again.
I did try getting a different ISO that isn't using GameMode.
