game mode issue on home theater pc
I recently built a new build consisting off the following:
Rx 7900 xtx
Ryzen 7 9800x3D
32GB DDR5 (2x16gb)
4tb ssd nvme
1000watt psu gold
With that said, I was excited to set up bazzite home theater with the steam os game mode as an option.
Once I booted it, I noticed that it had a long wait time, with the screen sometimes popping up with a bazzite steam logo, then disappearing only leaving me in the black again. After letting it take its time, it eventually booted me into desk top mode.
When I attempted to launch the game mode, it did the same thing. Over the course of the entire day, I trouble shooted with separate boots of new downloaded bazzite ISOs around 10 times. Still no luck with getting game mode to work, which is heart breaking it. KDE nor GNOME made a difference.
I am able to run desktop mode with no issues so I’ll just continue on there with big picture mode.
Any advice on fixing this issue or is it a common occurrence? Thank you!

run
ujust fix-reset-steam
in the terminal on the desktop, sometimes steam craps itself on first boot and there is no way we can check for that sadly.
try run that command first and if it has kept your old login credentials and shows you an account selector when steam starts up then "remove" your account from that list and sign in normally as that will clear out any potentially messed up session files too.
