2013 27 inch imac issue
I use a 2013 imac 27 inch with a gtx 780m, you may scrutinize me for using such a dianasour but it's held up, and I've seen that one video of a dude putting this on a 16 year old laptop so I have high hopes, as soon as I enter the boot I'm immediately sent to this screen after a pre load up with just a white text box. I'm gonna use an application called nobara to see if it helps me out with the installation, reply if you have any tips or recommendations.

Update; now trying to boot into OsX does this
unfortunately your GPU is just too old for the latest Nvidia driver
Kepler GPU is already end of life back in 2021/2022
I think the way to go is just trying nobara
I have to fully reset my computer tho

Nobara also ships with the latest nvidia driver, so I'm not sure if that will work, I'm not sure if you can downgrade the GPU drivers in Nobara. If not you might be able to go with something like Linux mint and install an older graphics card driver (it has a Prioprietary driver menu for installing the drivers for you). Looks like you'd need to install the 470 driver https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/details/226760/ if you want to use your GPU (last updated June 2024)
