What outfit to go with these Red Wings for a college campus?
I have these Red Wing Iron Rangers in the Hawthorne Muleskinner colorway, and I don’t know what to pair them with. I’m most looking to wear them at college. Any ideas?
The first pic shows me wearing them in olive jeans. Second pic shows the thumbnail image.

With wider cuff pants the legs would fit over the tops and the color would work with anything earth-tone based - greens, off whites, browns.
I'd advise not tucking your pants into the boots. The easiest thing to do would be to lean into the work wear vibe of the boots, straight leg jeans, flannels, chambray, denim. Here's the first result when I look up iron rangers on Pinterest.
Double knee pants like carhartts would work well too.
For college - probably a printed t-shirt rather than collared depending on your cohort/major. You'll get a bunch of free ones from clubs and the school too.
Graphic tshirts could be fine but I would recommend against wearing free T-shirts.
Even for the school you are wearing them at? My school was a while back but the free ones were also higher quality than most thrift and lower end stores because they picked the heavy gideons as the base. Does that rule apply for free-from-work work logo shirts too?
You should obviously decide for yourself, if you like the shirts your work/school gives you then go for it.
I just think wearing a shirt that everyone around you knows that just got for free makes it look like you don’t really care about your shirt and are just wearing it because it’s the clean shirt you had available.
But it probably depends on the specifics of the shirt.
