Game launch spinning Steam Logo
When I launch a non-steam game from Steam in Gaming mode, the game launches and I can hear it in the background. However, I get a black screen with an infinite "spinning" Steam logo over the top of it so I can't see the game. Only hear it. . Any help would be appreciated.

needs more info. how is this non-Steam game installed? what runner are you using?
I installed it with battle.net through Lutris, sorry I'm not crazy savvy on linux/steamdeck. I am using wine as the runner
the game launches in desktop mode, this only happens in Gaming Mode
wine-ge is about a year old at this point
can you please show a screenshot of the runner options in Lutris for this?

also, did you add the game to Steam from Lutris, or did you do it manually?
I think I have tried both actually, battle.net itself won't launch either in gaming mode, works in desktop mode also though

ok you're using GE-Proton, not Wine. what you need to do is enable shader precaching in Steam

I just looked and it was already enabled
"Allow background processing of Vulkan shaders" is not enabled though
couple of things to verify before moving on: verify that the shortcut in Steam is in fact a Lutris shortcut
it would be something like
lutris in the target and run ... in the options.I will delete the one I have no and redo it just in case
then in lutris, run bnet in desktop mode and provide the log. exit out of lutris, rerun it with
lutris -d and provide the full output here or uploaded to pastebin.com
you're on bazzite, why are you using the flatpak lutris?
I have no idea, I looked at some guide. I'm really new to all this
lutris is preloaded on Bazzite

the error you're facing is specific to flatpaks + game mode + umu
and addressable by precaching unless something else is going on on top of that
should I start over and use the Lutris already on Bazzite?

Do you know the linux command to do that off the top off your head?
flatpak remove lutris
you could also do it via the Software or Discover apps depending on your DEOk, uninstalled
Just opened Lutris again and now it's downloading a bunch of stuff

ge-proton (all lower case) or GE-Proton(Latest) for the newest version

setting it globally is also helpful

last time I looked at it, I only had the all lower case one

Ok, did a fresh install of battle.net. ill try and load it in gaming mode
You are amazing, battle.net now launched. It never did this before. Now I will try and install Avowed and see what happens
