Cheap sunglasses
Never bought sunglasses before. I'm wondering whether a $25 pair can be just as good as those that cost $250. Any recommendations?

there are gonna be a few factors which drive value
$25 sunglasses probably do most of what any sunglasses do
as long as the $25 ones block UV
some nicer lenses have things like scratch resistance and polarization
those things tend to cost above $25
then there is build quality and materials
both of which can drive up costs
is acrylic lens ok? i see lots of cheap, nice looking sunglasses sold by cotton on, but they're acrylic.
and finally design which is subjective but might drive how you value something
acrylic is pretty much the cheapest option for lens material
and those probably have no scratch coating and definitely no polarization
I think the better question to start with is what are you looking for
unsure of the style, but I'd be wearing them casually. I already have a quality pair of sunglasses for driving/outdoors, but they were given to me
because they'd be worn casually, I thought that I wouldn't need top-of-the-shelf
thank you for the answers. I'll skip cotton on and look elsewhere. Strangely, sunglasses either seem to cost $20 or $200.
There are definitely options in the middle
for my cheaper prescription glasses I get them from Yesglasses
I dont think they offer polarized lenses but they are cheap and often have codes for additional discounts

Jomashop has cheap grey market glasses for some fancier ones
you dont necessarily need top shelf if you dont want it
I like goodr. Their ad copy is insane but you can get decent wayfarer style glasses for like $25. They are polarized and more comfortable than some of the other cheap and hold up to scratches pretty well.
You can get sunglasses off zenni and eyebuydirect for pretty cheap
Crap eyewear is probably my favorite more affordable sunglasses brand
